The third assignment assigned for us is a debate between our course mate in a group of 3-4. My group members were Jason Yap Kar Juen and Sean Chua Jiu Xin.
This is the title of our debate and we are the FOR which is supporting the title:
"Malaysia employers are exploiting and ill-treating the foreign labours in the country"
Our main points :
1- Foreign maids were being badly treated while serving for their employers.
2- Construction labour workers were not given basic needs while working in construction sites or other places.
Reflection:
Communication Skills
During the debate, I can feel that I am trembling and having trouble to speak fluently and loudly due to nervousness. Hence, I will take the initiative to practice public speaking more to get rid of this problem thus giving my best shot in the next debate, not only debating but also in a public presentation.
Besides, by taking in comment from Miss Cassandra, I agree that we are looking on a very surface area of the title, which is only about the labour and employers. We should have think deeper where this may lead or how they will affect our country in term of economy, or others.
