ICI Final Project : The Project Brief

Finally, its the last project of the ICI module : The Project Brief.

In group of 4-5 members, we are required to choose a specific place in our campus Taylor's University Lakeside Campus and act as a client who want to initiate a small building project which is not more than 30m x 30m. Then, as a group we have to prepare a project brief which is suitable for our site.

Every meeting of our group has to be noted down clearly in the minutes of meeting. Besides, we have to study about types of development and also the building plan approval process and procedure.

Individually, we have to prepare a company profile of the role we present in this project. Everyone in the group represents a profession which involved in the project, such as Architect, Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Contractor or Landscape Architect. Other than the company profile, each of us also have to prepare a sample document of our role that's needed to complete the project.
This is the project brief of my group :

My group, Jason Yap Kar Juen ( leader, contractor ), Eelyn Cheong ( architect ), Cassandra Wong ( quantity surveyor ), Sean Chua ( engineer ) and I ( landscape architect ) had chosen the small empty land between block E and the staff parking as our site to build a 3 story building where it consist of a cafe, security center and a life center to attract more people to the place and also providing security for the carpark during night as the place was dark at night so that people will feel more secure.

Lifelong learning

Throughout this project, I've acquired different knowledge such as how to prepare the project brief, minutes of meeting and also the role and responsibilities of the role I'm representing in this project. Besides, i've also studied what should a company profile contain and how a company works as well as my landscape architect firm.
