The first ideal journal !
Getting to know more about your new friend...The daily objects !
What was it about?
Everyone of us were given a specific daily object in this IDJ and imagine it was our new friend.
We need to find information about our new friend, and create at least 2 mind maps.
Besides, we were required to find out the creative use of our new friend and give them a pet name and logo !
Sounds interesting right? Haha
What I've get was "Cotton Buds" !
Some of my friends got paper clips, pencils, drinking straw and so on.
After some time, I've finally completed my IDJ 01 and this is my first IDJ, enjoy <3

After Ideal Journal 01 , understanding your daily object, our next Ideal Journal is by using your understandings about the object, list and explain what you can do and what you can not do with your object.
Before starting, I did a few experiments on it such as putting it into water, burning it, throwing it to the ground, putting it into the fridge, rolling it from something and so on. With all these experiments I came out with different ideas on what I can do with and what I can not do with my friend, Buddies. : )
The Ideal Journal 03 - Your Object as a Super Hero !
Introduction
With all the understanding of the daily object of mine through the investigation and exploration of the previous Ideal Journals, this time we're going to design a Super Hero from our object!
Apparently, the Super Hero of our object we design should have it's name, costume, special powers, enemies and of course the LOGO. Its really a test for our creativity !
The process
To start with my costume designing, I had added some "human component" to my daily object which is the cotton bud. I've added a face on the tip of the cotton bud, hands and also the legs to attached to the handle of the bud. Then, I came out with variety of choices of costumes in different parts such as hat, gloves, capes, shoes and so on. Same as the costume, i came out with few different logo design which is related to my Super Hero and the one i think it was the best was chosen to be the logo of my Super Hero.
And also, by combining all the costumes in different ways, I've chosen the costume for my Super Hero which is like a magician. Why? Its more suitable for the shape and looks more friendly.
In addition, the special abilities and enemies of the Super Hero was designed and modified from the use of the cotton bud, which is sweeping to remove the ear waxes.
Finally ! This is the Super Hero I've designed !
The White Magician, Cotton Man !
( The white stands for clean )
Ideal journal 03 from Teck Wei
ReflectionThis was really a great and interesting Ideal Journal exercise. In this exercise i've learnt to think creatively and critically towards the requirement and the object of mine.
